wiki research

  1. Using the Internet, research how a class wiki can be used in education - Here is a good source, use it and adapt it to your specific classes.
  2. What are the benefits of using a wiki?
  3. How can we create one in this class and utilize it?
  4. What experience do you have using or creating wikis?

1. teachers can come together to see what other classes are working on. they can come together and make one big lesson for students.
2. you can collaborate with other people without sending a bunch of emails or messages.
3. i can utilize wiki with another classmate if i am doing a project with him/her.
4. i have no experience in making a wiki

Saving Lives

You have been chosen to wear an invisible cloak for 1 day to perform a good deed and become the unknown/unrecognized hero! What good deed will you do? Without using any real names (you can make up names), blog at least 2 paragraphs about your day being invisible. All posts must be school appropriate.

Good deeds can be shown or done in a countless amount of ways. In my opinion getting recognized for doing a good deed should not be what doing good deeds is about. Knowing that you helped someone should be more then enough gratitude, I try to help people at least once a day. From holding doors to explaining a problem in math class without anything in return.

If i was chosen to wear an invisible cloak for 1 day I would chose to do good deeds all day. I would wait by busy intersections all day long. you never know if a car comes unexpectedly, i could be able to pull someone back to the sidewalk if a car was coming. Being invisible would not bother me because i would not anything in return. Just knowing i helped or even saved someones life is enough for me.

Do Now 10/7

Wood-Ridge high school has many classes that teach students many different things. Although we have a great school program we can still add more classes to our curriculum. One of the classes I would enjoy having would be Auto Mechanic .Students who take this course would learn a sorts of techniques on changed parts of cars and more. The class could meet at garage off campus near the apartments by Moonachie. It could be a great learning experience for many of the students and they can use this class later on in life.

The class would be a year long and would meet during school hours. Students will learn how to change tires, do oil changes, change exhaust systems, and much much more. As a final for this class you will have to take a car a and change the following parts that ask being asked to change. Changing parts is not all that is going to be done. Classes will be able to go on field trips to dealer ships and shops to see how people work on cars in real life. I know i can get a lot out of this class and so will many other students hopefully in the future our High school developes a program like this.
